Kiwivelo was the dream/idea of owners Scott and Vanessa Guyton mainly because when they were growing up as young cyclists in NZ they struggled to find bike stores that specialised in the competitive cyclists needs so struggled to find the advice and equipment. They feel that between them they can provide their customers with a wealth of knowledge on the sport of cycling and the equipment from a male and female perspective through first hand knowledge from racing at the top level. Hence, their catch phase... Kiwivelo, where customers and cool bike gear come first!!
While specialising in the competitive side of cycling they also cater for the tri market and the entry-level cyclist whether male or female. They have found their experience in competitive cycling to have provided them with a good grounding to be able to assist cyclist from all abilities of cycling.

Scott Guyton - Owner/Operator
Scott is a double Olympian (Sydney 2000, Alanta 1996) and Commonwealth Games Representative (Kular Lumpar 1998). Represented NZ just having turned 19 in Alanta. Raced in European Pro Teams from 1997 to 2004. Won NZ's most prestigious tour - Tour of Southland twice 1998 and 2003 and placed in the top three on other occasions. Scott has coached Westlake Boys Highschool cycling team for the last five years, with the team going from strength to strength under his guidance, narrowly missing out on the National title last year and will be the ones to watch this year!

Vanessa Guyton - Owner/Operator
Represented NZ at World Championship level as a junior and senior. Won numerous national titles as a junior (U19) rider. Represented NZ at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. Is a qualified Sport Sciencist and a Nutrition having completed a BSc with a double major in Sports and Exercise Science as well as Human Nutrition in 2005. Raced on one of the worlds top women's cycling teams for five years.

Steve Northey - Head Mechanic
Steve has a vast range of cycling knowledge through competing in road cycling as well as having competed in the Kona Ironman and the NZ Ironman. He is a fanatastic mechanic and has been the Mechanic for the NZ team to the Youth Olympics in Sydney 2005 as well as being the mechanic for various teams at the Tour of Southland.
In March 2010 Steve has set out a personal goal, he will be riding from Bluff to Cape Reinga in 18 days of riding.

Brenton James - Salesman/Website Technician
Brenton went to school at Westlake Boys and raced the Secondary School Cycling Season. Brenton is still involved in school cycling and is a keen cyclist himself. Away from cycling, Brenton has a passion for his music, playing Bass Guitar for his band Last Awake and is involved in various singing groups.

Matt Gilbert - Salesman
Gilby has had a prolific cycling career in a relatively short space of time. Gilby has spent seasons racing in Europe, North America, Australia and of course NZ. Matt started his cycling career through Secondary School Cycling. He is our resident cycling encyclopedia and keeps himself up to date with all the goings on in cycling NZ and abroad!

Vicki Cheatley - Accounts Manager

Chuck Buckley- Website Technician/Warranty Department
Chuck previously raced for Senior A Westlake cycling team who was 2nd in the National Team Time Trial. Chuck is still racing competitively. Has a bit of a fetish for Oakley sunglasses. So far he owns 9 sets and still climbing.
